There's nothing wrong with being a nerd. I subscribe to friends' blogs via RSS in the Mac Mail program. I get them delivered to my inbox, as if every entry is an email sent right to me. For sites that get updated too frequently for me to want an email for every post, I make them bookmarks in my toolbar in Safari (Firefox does this, too). That way, whenever I've got my browser open I can see a little number next to the title of the site [like "Failblog (6)" for six new postings on that site], and check them all whenever I have a few more minutes to spare. I used to check certain blogs all the time looking for updates, but RSS has changed the way I keep up with blogs. No turning back now.

Hey Matthew it's Matthew

I have heard that if you were to take the total amount of money spent by Americans on Christmas THIS YEAR and then give 10% (Im pretty sure it's 10%) of it to the poor there wouldn't be any poor left. God has given us the ability and resources to help everyone yet so few help at all. We are all rich here in America! A practical thing that your sister and I are trying to do is to give 50% of our income to the poor. We aren't there yet but we are getting closer each year. We give to the Children's Hunger Fund and Gospel for Asia both of which address the physical and spiritual needs of the people.
I bring that up not to get praise from men but to show that anyone and everyone can do this (and you know full well that Julie and I don't make much money if anyone is thinking we might be rich) and to maybe spur on any one else who might read your blog. Im so sick of my friends and "christians" who spend so much money on their cars and homes and gadgets as people starve to death just down the street without ever hearing the gospel! They show by their fruits who their Master is. The New Testament believers sold EVERYTHING they had to help those in need why shouldn't we do the same. If we believe what the bible teaches there is not even a choice!

Sorry my first comment on your blog was so long but Im just passionate about these things.

See you Wed when we decorate the TREE!

I wish I had something intelligent to say about this, but poignant really is the best way to describe it. Even if it doesn't elicit direct change from most, I'm a big fan of being put in my place, which is something this video does really well.

1. I did. It actually doesn't look so bad! If you ever need someone to go over there with a crowbar and some strong words, say the word.

2. I think it's probably just good to move to Portland. And good to live in Portland. See you there.

Two things:

1. Did you pass a run down house on Millerton Rd. with two monstrous dogs in the back tearing up the yard and crazy tenants who never pay their rent on time?

2. It is good to move to a new town, where all that magic from your child-hood still lives on for your kids. (aka Portland)

I hear you, brother. It's amazing how much a place changes in such a short amount of time, and how we all move on to those proverbial bigger and better things. Your last three lines sum it up perfectly.
