London Town
Well, we’re here, and after a small airport fiasco for Heather and a couple tube-rides in vain for me, we’re settled in my new flat in South East London (Bermondsey). I’m renting a room from a great married couple here in an incredible flat.
Heather and I will spend the next couple weeks getting situated in the city and seeing the tourist destinations, getting that all out of the way before her school term begins.
The job thing in London is still an issue, so by all means if you know of anything, let me know. I’m following up a lot of leads and we’ll see where they go. More coming, especially pictures.
Last Day in Lusaka
Well, it’s been a crazy time since Heather and I returned from Zanzibar… it was honestly a great trip that had its ups and downs but we learned so much about each other and hanging out together with my friends here in Lusaka has been so great. Heather has been so agreeable and content and has been taking it all in like a sponge. I’m so glad she’s been able to be here before going to London and her Masters program– it’s good to remember the reality and the down and dirtiness of development.
The last week I’ve just been buttoning up everything here with my work, finishing the operations manual feels so good, and I’m hoping that it can be a service to a great number of people.
Heather and I both are now the proud owners of bamboo bicycle frames, and now we just need to get to London and build them up using good components… I can’t wait to cruise around London together! Here’s to hoping it’s not a very rainy fall/winter!
With my time in Zambia coming to a close, I hope you continue to follow my blog… there are many more adventures coming in my life: a potential low- and middle-income housing project, a potential move to London, or (hopefully not) a potential return to the Los Angeles music scene. I’m unsure what’s coming next, but rest assured that I won’t give up on this blog.
